The Paddock is delighted to be working in partnership with Blaydon Burn Farm to deliver free range, naturally reared, grass fed beef and lamb direct to your door.


Blaydon Burn Farm is a small farm run by Ike and Steph who keep traditional breed cattle and sheep, fed on their own rich variety of naturally fertilised clover lay.


They keep a range of traditional breeds of cattle - at the moment they have Herefords, English Beef Shorthorn and Angus! They feed on a great diet of Blaydon Burn Farm’s natural clover lay, either eaten fresh or as haylage and silage as a winter supplement. This gives a unique, delicious flavour and texture to the meat.  The animals live contentedly outside all year round, growing a thick winter coat. All the beef is properly hung for a minimum of 21 days to enhance texture and flavour - packed by a local, family run butcher and frozen at the farm.


Steph and Ike started with a small flock of pure bred Jacob sheep in 2008. Each year they have brought in a tup of a different breed to vary and enrich the mix, which creates unique cross-breeds. These animals roam freely all year round in their beautiful fields. As with the beef, the sheep are taken to a local family farm and butcher for slaughter and packing. This production method not only reduces food miles but also the stress on the animal and this really shows in the quality of the meat.


All of the meat is then frozen at the farm to maintain freshness. This gives us much longer to sell an animal with minimal waste, in keeping with our ethos and small scale production methods. We will always endeavour to deliver the meat frozen, however this meat will not be suitable for freezing again after purchase if it has defrosted by the time it is delivered. Please note, if you have ordered meat, you will need to provide your own cool box with cool blocks to keep the meat chilled if you are not likely to be home as we will not leave the cool box which the meat is transported in.


We currently have Hogget available! Hogget is a lamb which is a little older - over a year instead of about 6 months, but not yet mutton. It’s delicious meat, very tasty. 


Delivery is free when purchased alongside a veg box, with a minimum value of £12. I'm sorry but we do not deliver meat alone. Please see the FAQs section of our website for full info on delivery charges and areas. 


All of the prices listed below are per kilo. Each item has been individually wrapped and weighed according to EEC rules and regulations. Please select the type of meat you require from the drop down menu below and in the special instructions box of the checkout form you can indicate if you require it to be of a specific weight, otherwise, we will select the piece of meat accordingly and be in touch with an order total on the day of delivery.


Please note : The website cannot calculate the total price of the meat, which is why it will show as 0.00 on your order. You will notice all of the meat 
is listed with a price per KG to comply with regulations, however you do not have to buy this amount. You can use the special instructions and notes boxes of the checkout form to indicate how much of each meat you would like. The website can’t give you a final price for the meat until it has been packed and weighed on the morning of your delivery as every piece is different, hence the final total will be written on your box.
