The Story behind the chocolate!
We are delighted to be teaming up with Davenport's Chocolates this Easter time to bring you local, handmade Easter Eggs and speciality chocolates with a twist. Davenport's Chocolates are a small, family run business based in Pelaw and focus on handcrafted chocolates made in small batches using traditional methods combined with new ideas and innovative processes as well as sustainable ingredients. They use Acorn Dairies, Darlington for their organic milk and butter and Callebaut for the chocolate who have well established co-operatives with cocoa farmers.
Head Choclatier, Jane Williams is hugely passionate about making the best possible chocolate she can!
Built on strong ethics and sustainability, Davenport's also donate some of their profits to charities close to their heart, similar to The Paddock, making this a match made in heaven!
The Easter eggs are handcrafted by our 2 chocolatiers in our artisan chocolate factory in Pelaw. Each half shell is 'double moulded'
to create a thick double layer of chocolate. The artisan chocolates are all made by hand too, and the centres are enrobed on a beautiful antique enrobing machine.
Choose from 4 indulgent flavours available, available in 2 sizes: Large 350g (contains 9 chocolates inside), Small 220g (contains 5 chocolates inside):
Strawberry & Champagne: A Milk Chocolate Easter Egg decorated with a pink shimmer. Filled with velvety smooth milk chocolate ganache truffles, beautifully blending the sweetness of strawberries with the sparkle of Marc de Champagne.
Cinnamon Toffee Apple: A Milk Chocolate Easter Egg decorated with a copper shimmer. Filled with creamy toffees made with a childhood twist of cinnamon and apple, enrobed in milk chocolate.
Creme Caramel: A Milk Chocolate Easter Egg decorated with a golden shimmer. Filled with indulgent caramel ganache truffles, made from smooth milk chocolate and topped with creamy white chocolate flakes.
Hazelnut Praline: A Dark chocolate Easter Egg decorated with a silver shimmer. Filled with smooth nutty pralines made from caramelized hazelnuts, flaked almonds and smooth dark chocolate, topped with roasted hazelnut nibs for a crisp finish.
The eggs are beautifully wrapped with minimal packaging in cellophane with satin ribbons, and the chocolates are sealed inside a thick chocolate shell made from our house couverture.

The Vintage Collection rediscovers 12 favourite chocolate memories from the past and is specially presented in beautiful damask gift boxes and hand ribboned. Including: stem ginger, orange cream, caramel, coconut marshmallow, coffee cream, strawberry and champagne, raspberry jelly, salted peanut caramel, parma violet crema, vanilla fudge, lime cream and rum and raisin truffle.
The Floral Collection. A distinctive collection of floral flavoured, dark chocolate fondant creams, each one a delicate delight with a wonderfully nostalgic feel. The 3 generations old, meltingly smooth fondant cream recipe beautifully captures the flavours of the natural oils. Including: Lavender, Rosemary and Lemon Flower, Bergamot, Parma Violet, Rose and Geramium and Fennel Blossom.
Please place orders for Easter no later thank Monday 19th March. The eggs and chocolates can then be delivered alongside a veg box or collected from our Farm Shop. Unfortunately we are unable to offer delivery on the chocolate alone if it is not purchased alongside a veg box.
