Traditionally a hill sheep farm, the Hirds have farmed Yockenthwaite Farm since 1842 and in addition to sheep farming, they produce a delicious range of breakfast cereals which The Paddock is now lucky enough to stock. A small family business with lots of flavour. The Hirds roll their own porridge oats straight from the groat with no further cooking or processing, making a nutritionally superior and tastier breakfast cereal. They make their Muesli using these oats, a simple Bircher style Muesli, a popular and healthy choice if you prefer no sugar. Now with a fantastic selection of Granola on offer too, with or without nuts, there is something for everyone. The flour comes from local Yorkshire farms, either wheat or spelt wholegrain, nothing added and nothing taken away, retaining all it's natural goodness. The granola is sweetened with natural raw honey and bound together with sunflower oil, a sprinkling of sesame seeds, a smidgen of Madagascan vanilla and a pinch of sea salt. The Not So Sweet varieties contain only the raw honey, whilst the Original Nutty granola has a little un-refined muscovado sugar added.
