About our Organic Farmhouse Butter Slightly Salted: 250g (Herd)

Handmade Organic Farm House Butter Slightly Salted (250g block). Currently from Herd. What started as a single partnership in 1994 evolved into the Omsco, a 120-Farms-strong Co-operative producing a diverse array of Organic dairy products and ingredients. We now sell our own products, each of which proudly bears our new name: Organic Herd. Farmers work hand-in-hand with nature to create a vibrant and nourishing environment for their Herd (and the bees!), free from herbicides and artificial pesticides. Cows in the Organic Herd lead a very happy life, grazing outdoors in grassy fields for around 235 days a year. Our butter is churned in small batches using rich Organic cream. Traditional barrels create an exceptionally creamy texture. Logs are hand-salted, infused with high quality Organic ingredients and hand rolled. We usually source our butter from within Northumberland and will be back to our regular supplier shortly, they are currently taking a break from production.

We are now working with Hauxley Farm, a sustainable dairy farm near Amble, Northumberland to supply their butter to our customers via our delivery service. Whilst not certified organic, the farm does not feed any methane suppressing additives to their cows. They produce a delicious slightly salted farmhouse butter from their own milk produced from the cows on the farm & make measures to farm sustainably, including solar power & electric delivery vans.

The milking parlour consists of 2 automated Lely milking robots, this helps reduce the human interaction with the cows and allows the cows to be milked at their own pleasure.
